19Cutlass94
How do I go about removing this ring? It looks like its just pressed on, but I dont wanna break it trying to get it out. I need to get the ring out so I can use the ud pulley since none of them come with this ring on them already. Any help would be great. Thanks --Jay
Brian P
yup, just pressed in. Tap lightly around it from the inside, I think I used a piece of wooden molding and placed it between the spokes, and tapped it out. Go around slowly, you'll be fine. 19Cutlass94
Now I would assume that its gotta to back into the new pulley the same exact spot it came out of the old one? I cant imagine you can just place it anywhere you want?
Brian P
reference the timing reluctor ring to the keyway in the pulley. It can be close but doesn't have to be perfect. Computer will relearn it. If you had a '98+ you'd need to do a "case learn" but you have the OBD1.5 which takes anything.
19Cutlass94
Awesome. Thanks a bunch. I just need to find something to use to press it back in that would give even pressure.
