I beleive this job CAN be done without dropping the headliner, but the top must be in the 1/2 open position. I'm not sure how you could do this without unfastening the headliner. I did have the top 1/2 opened and to reach the center strap would be a feat worthy of Houdini, I think. Besides, undoing the back of the headliner wasn't that hard. The write up can be found under the old topic. 95 BLKDOUT DropTop did a great job of describing the process. It was due to him that I had the courage to even try this.
