GP1138
It's called the subframe, and yes it can be replaced, but are you sure it's actually the subframe that needs replaced? The control arm can be replaced independent of the subframe.
hell_raiser
the mounts appear to be bent where the control arm attaches stupid thin tabs
PCGUY112887
Try to straighten them out and replace the control arm. I have never heard of a subframe on one of these cars getting f-ed up.
ismellrealbad
well you will if u slide into a curb at 55mph with the wheel turned like i managed to do one night. bent the control arm almost 90 degrees down and back, bent the subframe and mounts for control arm, tie rod end 45 degrees, strut assembly, completely disintegrated front rim and tire, merely destroyed the rear rim and tire and bent the rear wheel bearing. it was such a hard impact i thought for sure i had bent the subframe bad enough to bend the unibody as well. enough so i wouldnt be able to mount up a new one. well got another and it mounted up fine no body damage. i think it took about 3-4 hours with a lift and me and one other person..and a third for the last hour. its not complicated, but it is a fucking bitch if you dont have top engine support fixture and a jack that will sufficiently lift something that large and bulky. of course i did not have these things. it was a complex and rediulous combination of moving people and stand up jack to different locations at differnt times when removing and installing the subframe. something to SAFELY support the motor and trans from above the car is the most important thing. it may actually be easier to do on the ground
