head gasket

im thinking about tearing my running 3100 95 cutless engine appart im a noob here is there any tips, also may add new rings as for it has blowby big time is it better to fix the prob before it blows a gasket. also what is this i hear about the rods? can some one show me a pic of this diy rod table. will a engine benifit mutch from this tear down the car has 240 km shes up there i may just swap in a doch. hit me up with some info!

if you're a newB then i wouldn't go about trying to change the rings yourself. You have to take out the crank, rods and pistons to get the rings out, at that point you might as well just rebuild the whole thing or get a JY engine

Yes. The rings in my 3.1 in my Lumina were a little worn too, so at oil change time the oil smelled like gasoline, but nothing horrible.

Where did you get that you have to take the crank out to change rings. More miss information. Where did you read that in a comic book. :lol:
