Really High Idle

I replaced my leaking vac line to HVAC and have air vents/cruise working again : GOOD

I saw the one that ran from the FPR to the MAP sensor was cracked, so I decided to replace that one too.

I pulled out the brittle plastic line under the plenum (going to MAP), and ran a rubber one above the plenum (not touching it).

It idled around 2000, and gave me Service Engine Soon.

I realized the hard line ran to this weird thing that redirected the line to the map sensor behind the engine. Bypassing this plastic redirector makes the sensor is going crazy? Its in a really hard to get to spot. The car runs right kinda alright with a very high idle.

I'm going out to fiddle with it. I appreciate fast responses since I need to take a long trip in two days. On a side note, before I messed with this second line, my car ran PERFECTLY

Thank you

no luck on idle relearn, but got a code 33 doing it!

Trouble Code 33 indicates that the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is detecting unusually low vacuum in the manifold

Possible causes include:

1. Faulty MAP-to-ECM connection

2. Plugged or leaking sensor vacuum hose

3. Defective MAP sensor

4. Defective ECM

1) I didn't unplug the sensor

2) ? I guess...it was leaking before I replaced the line

3) I doubt it

4) No thanks, replaced in past. Twice.

Engine is really hot. Tomorrow I guess I'll see if my new line is leaking

just to update:

MAP sensor was toast....It didn't know what to do with a non leaky vacuum line. Idle relearn did nothing, replaced sensor and then idle relearned. Its fine now
