Rdrckt_92 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Share Posted May 15, 2007 ok, this sounds like a dumbass question, but how do you remove the glass/ mechanism out of a GP side mirror. I removed the 2 screws on the bottom, looked inside and cant see any other place it is secured to. Does it just pop out or what. I want to paint them before they go on the car, and taking the glass out would make it easier to paint. Im kinda worried about breaking them. Crazy K Posted May 15, 2007 Report Share Posted May 15, 2007 92 (or 96 and earlier) GP with plastic mirrors? you can pull the entire mirror with the backing piece off the mirror assembly. move it all the way to the extreme end of it's travel and look behind the mirror. you will see a gray metal 'X', pop that out of it's socket by gently pulling on the mirror and it should come free (the entire backing with mirror) then the adjuster shafts pull right out.
