chadz34
My ABS light comes and goes.....it started happening after I fixed my warped rear rotors and pads, my question is...what is triggering the light I mea when I restart the engine it is off and then it will randomly ocme back on after driving for a while, I put everything back together properly and shit, so I dont know what could be causing this, any ideas? CSI_MuNkY
I had the same problem, ended up being a stored code in the computer from an old problem that had been fixed, however the code was never erased from the computer or something. At least thats what the guy at the shop I go to told me, he didn't charge me to fix it... Jamie

Jamie That's weird, I just think it's weird that the light comes on randomly and stays on until I restart the engine. After I restart the motor, th elight is off, but iwll come on wihtin minutes of driving....

chadz34
wheel speed sensor? Now, is this sometihng I could have fucked up doing the brakes? I mean my speedo works fine.
1990lumina
The wheel speed sensor senses how fast each wheel is going individually, so when one wheel starts slipping it can sense it and apply brake pressure accordingly - it has nothing to do with your speedo. Check the Aux. power terminal on the driver's fender and make sure it's tight..I've heard if it's loose it can cause some wierd issues like this. Try that first because it's free. supreme_style21
It's going to be the wheel speed sensor. There is one in each hub. Typically, the wires eventually get messed up or the sensor goes bad. The light doesn't come on until you start moving because it doesn't detect anything until that point. My cutlass does the same thing. You can idle it for an hour and the ABS light never comes on.. as soon as you hit like 5mph, that light pops on. If I jiggle around on the sensor, it stops acting up for a few days, but always comes right back. I hate ABS, so it isn't of any concern to me really. Addicted To Boost
Tighten the aux terminal- my gp did the exact same thing and that got rid of the light for me!

MonteCarloChick
No I mean come on and stay on without me moving the car at all
Supreme Cutlass
Numerous things can also cause the light to come on, such as uneven pressure in the brake lines or prehaps in MCC's issue, a motor not cycling properly. (on most systems the motors run a cycle on startup.)
