whip
I have a 1991 Gp that had an idle problem. Everything I read pointed to change out the intake gaskets. I have did so and changed out the IAC valve also. I have checked for vaccuum leaks also. This car still will not idle down below 2000 rpm. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks. Q-Ball
How long has this been going on for? How many km or miles on your car?
Crazy K
ditto on above. try... unplugging the TPS sensor and seeing what the car does.
whip
The car has had a motor change done to it. Motor is of 94-66 vintage. Mileage unknown but runs good. It has a hyper chip in it.
Andrew
has this only happened since you swapped motors? try the TPS that ken suggested.
ns87
Also check the car's coolant temperature sensor (not the one for the gauge). If its reading too low, it'll force a high idle
whip
Hey guys! Aprreciated the advice. I changed the cts sensor , but it still idles up[ to 25000 rpm right away. Also took the tps out and reinstalled it ,but it diddn't change anything. I have did alot of work on my cars on my own, but this headache is driving me insane!!! I have also rechecked the throttle linkage and TB for binding and there is none. Keep giving me ideas!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
