Dirty Rockstar Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Tried a search, but this didn't come up. I have a pretty nasty scratch on my hood thanks to some punk and a key or some such shit. Whatever. I want to get it taken care of, but don't know what the best way is to go about it. I am leery of taking my touchup pen and coloring it in because I dont want to have the touched up area be as noticable as the scratch. I saw a commercial for Nu Finish on the telly and they seemed to say it would take care of my problem. AFAIK, I would want to wash and claybar first.. Then Polish, then wax, but Im not 100% sure. Thanks for any help guys! Quote

Im not sure I would think any type of wax could take out hair line scratches. Possibly a high speed buffing. Quote
J Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 steve do some searching on spikes website. The powerblock one day had a bad ass kit to fix scratches. All you do is get factory touch up and it has the compounds, pads, sandpaper and everything you need but the wax to make it look new. It really did look great, FWIR (from what i remember) it was around $50, but thats cheaper than a auto body shop to take it off and try and blend it. I'd also search the web, sorry bro i didn't have time to find you a link Quote
kuwaitliberation Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Been there, done that. If you have the factory touch up, just go ahead and put it on there. Then take a polishing disc and some rubbing compound and smooth it out. After that, follow up with polishing compound. If you want to re-clear coat it in that spot, someone else will have to let you know. I just always kept the entire car waxed to ensure that it all looked the same and the paint didn't have an opportunity to oxidize when the rest of the car was clear coated and couldn't. Quote

EVen if I wanted to uninstall it, it would stay in my registry taking up resources.. FTW.....? Quote
