PJB Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 The ones youre finding are the rwd Regals (Grand National style). Ive never seen one for your style, but you might be able to make one using a fiberglass or steel universal scoop. Quote
PJB Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 That car needs gold wire wheels to complete the look. Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 i want the hood but that is the kit i decided to get Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 That car needs gold wire wheels to complete the look. Ask and ye shall reccieve. Quote

phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 id say the easiest way to go would be buy a steel cowl from the back of any magazine, which is like 160 bucks or something like that, its steel so it might be a little heavy on shipping but you can put it on yourself and cut it to the right length and everything just a sec ill look in the back of my car craft for the number.... damn gonna have to dig out one of meh old issues... ok found it, ill quote dirrectly from the magazine: "STEEL IS REAL steel cowl induction style hood scoop $149.95 standard 3" tall & outlaw 4 1/2" tall *both versions come extra long and can be easily trimmed to fit most cars and trucks * made from strong 20 guage steel to eliminates the crackling and warping problems common with other hood scoops! THE SPEED CENTER 105 N. Campbell Dept. CC Rapid City, SD 57701 http://www.thespeedcenter.net (605) 348-3852" i hope that helps you, good luck Quote
godofthunder Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 The one in that picture to me looks just like one of those slap on deals. Mainly becuase the front of it, where it touches the hood. jon Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 would i be able to mold it on the hood so it looks like one single hood n not a hood with a scoop Quote
phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 yes, that is what bondo and fiberglass can be used for, bolt on the hood scoop, put bondo on the edges, bondo-glas works good, sand it down when it dries, then paint it Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 can i make it functinal(spellin??) Quote
phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 lol ya, do everything like i just said and the cut a hole in the original hood with a hacksaw or something, one of these radial saws would work too, or and orbiting saw, just set it so it only cuts through the first hood, and NOT the cowl! Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 now what r the benifits of a cowl induction hood Quote
slick Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Engine may run cooler, better air flow, bugs on your engine Quote
phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 looks, mainy. the cowl is more intended for the use on engines that have superchargers or something that is too big to fit under the stock hood, the cowl makes room for anything under the hood, and its a way to get cold air into the engine compartment from the top rather than through the fender or from under the car Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 works as a heat extraction to im guessin but cant i set up a ram air 2??? Quote
phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 cowl induction is so much easier than ram-air, id stick with cowl induction Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 i was akin if i can set up a ram air threw the coil induction hood Quote
phantomFE3 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 you could, but technically it wouldnt be ram-air, it would be cowl induction Quote
hazmatic Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 oh how do u think hood louvers would look on a coil induction hood n maybe set up the louvers as a ram air Quote
