MonteCarloChick Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 Lately I've noticed my car making this rather loud high pitched squealing sound (imagine a school bus braking). It does it when I'm going fast, slow, straight, around corners.. all the time. It's giving me a headache Any ideas on what it is? Thanks! Quote
Crazy K Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 does it change in pitch with engine rpm, speed, or gear? Quote
NVMY03GT Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 Im going to take a guess on this as I don't know GM's brake system yet, but Im guessing your on the squeeler to let you know that brake pads are low. Anyone else's thoughts? Do they exist on the Monte? Quote
Turbo231 Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 If it is brake related, it could be the brake squealer or cheap/wrong pads. Quote
DOHCRagtopguy Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I would immediately check your brakes. Could be the warning tab scraping. Eliminate that first. Quote
mediabandit Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 i agree, sounds like it is the wear pad that is making that noise.time to check the brakes. Quote
