OldSkoolGP
I figured out how to use the 91-93 parking brake cable with the 94 up brakes. It's not horribly complicated, but I gotta test it first to make sure there is no binding or other issues. I'll do a writeup once I've confirmed the modification is sound. 94CutlassSLCoupe
we did it on my dad's car already http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php/topic,56513.0.html
White93z34
it really is not a large deal to use the 94+ parking brake cables
OldSkoolGP
No, you can replace the cable from under the car all the way back with 94 up stuff, but it costs money. This is virtually free.
mdelorie
I'm right at the point of deciding whether or not I'm going to do this! The sooner you can get that writeup up, the better!

The sooner you can get that writeup up, the better! do it when you have issues with your stock calipers. I still suggest using the 94+ cables. I really am not sure how you can hook the 88-93 cables up without re-routing them at least a little AND cutting the springs off of them. OldSkoolGP
Ok, you're probably wondering where the update is. Well, the truth is I just got the car on the road Tuesday and I've been dealing with other more important issues. I did mess with the parking brakes today. What I can report is the modification kind of works. For whatever reason the passenger side cable isn't pulling at the same rate as the driver's side cable, so I have to sort that out. I will say, I can take pictures, explain what I did, but for thsoe who want a clean look, it's not gonna be recommended. This just works, period. pwmin
i did it on two cars before by bending the bracket on the driver side and adding a 1/2" spacer (with longer bolt, of course) on the passenger side with removing the pass. side mounting bolt for the pass cable. i just did that with my gp, but i had to adjust the equalizer too much to the pass. side and it ended up being too tight and i broke the cable before the adjuster . worked twice before, but not this time. i doubt this had anything to do with it, but the first two were autos (90 TGP, 92 Z34) and this time it was a manual. i know yours is a swapped manual, so that leads me more to think there is no difference. i am just going to get new 94+ cables and either try to make a 94+ parking brake assembly work or get one from a j/y off an older auto car. mine is somewhat messed up anyway, so it already needed replaced. kuwaitliberation
Just wondering. Has anyone looked at a GM parking brake that wasn't from a w-body? Just the brake assembly in the vehicle itself to see if that might work in our cars. I will be on the lookout myself. You just never know what you might find.
