moto_ty
ok, so with new tires and all, i got a little cocky, long story short, i hit some gravel and slid into a curb at about 10-15 mph on the passenger side...... put a nice little gash in the rim, but im not worried about that, the first thing i noticed was the steering is a little softer than normal.... so i pulled over as soon as i could, and looked it over, everything looked good enough to get me home (about 2 miles), when i got home the first thing i noticed was the drivers side sat a little lower, not much, about 1/2 in. or so... i pulled off the pass. tire and looked a little closer, i cant find anything wrong. so i did the same with the drivers side, and nothing looks messed up... i took it out to see if there was a shimmy or something at higher speeds, at 80mph it was smooth so heres why i think its fucked up, during sharper right turns, the pass. tire rubs on the body a little. and when i turn it all the way to the lock position in either direction it stays locked, and it usually strightens its self out but it just stays in the lock position... and like a already said, the steerings softer than normal... my dad seems to think i knocked it out of alignment, is it possable? or did i screw up my rack? bend a strut? any ideas would help? DOHCRagtopguy
A couple of months ago I slid on wet pavement with my Nissan and hit the curb on the right side at about the same speed. I ended up having to replace the lower control arm and the RH drive axle because they were both bent. It doesn't take much of a bend to screw up the steering geometry. I would take it to a front end shop and get them to put it on the alignment rack, hopefully yours isn't as bad as my Nissan was.
blkinternational
damn sound like exactly what happend to me if u searched you might find my thread. but i hit a curb at a pretty decent speed and the weel ended up sitting on a angle but not that bad of one. blah blah and also when i turned the weel it would rub the inner weelwell and the steering wouldnt turn back it would stay and it was also softer what happend was i bent the subframe on the car, the part where the control arm connects to the frame of the car and i bent it pretty good, take the weel off and look around the area of where the control arm connects to the frame look for anything there but if its rubbing on the inner weelwell its more then just knocked out of alignment much more. digitaloutsider
Control arm got destroyed. Hopefully it didn't take the subframe with it.

CuttySup
Good wheel bearings don't make noise. I changed a lot on Corvettes at my old job
Crazy K
you may have bent something, tore something up.... once you have looked everything over see if you find anything damaged, bent control arm, frame retainers fro the control are pushed off center, etc etc. Just getting an alignment check might not shead a light on the issue.
