Grand Moff Joseph
I'm beginning to seriously question if my cooling fans are working right. I know there are two fans, so under what conditions are one/both of them supposed to be running? I always thought that one had to turn on when the A/C is turned on, but that does not happen in my car. Assuming that there is a problem, would this be a simply replacement switch issue, or buy a whole new fan assembly? thanks!
5speedz34
IIRC-The A/C causes the passenger side fan to come on. The Drivers side fan comes on at 230*? You used to be able to replace the motor, but I would just replace the whole assembly. Do you know how to check for codes? That's the best way to tell if the fans are working. I think it only spins the drivers though.
rockfangd
he is right. Also when you hook up a code reader it trips the fan on. I did the AC bypass on my cutty so i made it so thatwhen it gets to 230 both fans come on
1990lumina
You can jump the relay too IIRC to be sure the fan motor is working, and that is isn't a relay issue.
SigEpCutlass
You can jump the relay too IIRC to be sure the fan motor is working, and that is isn't a relay issue. That is correct. That is what I did to find that one of my fans wasn't working properly. I suggest you go that route, as it's probably the easiest to determine what you need to do next.
