jahoosapheth Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I have a stock 89 GP LE, concidering im not very knowledgable about cars....this would be a learning experience. I was wondering if parts for younger GP's around 90 to 94 were interchangeable to a 89 grand prix. I was planing on swapping some interior parts like seats (93 seats are nicer), and some exterior parts like the stock wanabe ground effects on the newer ones... I was also curious to see if there would be a bolt on turbo i might be able to put in without extra addons... Not very many people have this car and if they do, its crapy and if its not crapy its stock, if its not stock, its not an LE (It has a genII 3.1L) Any info anybody could post would be most appreciated, havent seen anybody try to convert body styles or interior on this year or type of GP, just wanted to glance @ the possibilities... GnatGoSplat Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Yes, all that stuff should be interchangeable. Quote
The Burning Rom Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 I was also curious to see if there would be a bolt on turbo i might be able to put in without extra addons... You're not gonna find you one of these. There are a lot of extra addons that go with putting a turbo on this engine. And you must have a late model 89 if it has a 3.1L engine in it. Most 89s only have a 2.8L engine. Quote
Robby1870 Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 yeah, with any turbo conversion on a computer controlled motor, you cant just bolt-on a turbo. You would need a 2-bar MAP sensor, oil pan from a turbo grand prix, ECM from a turbo grand prix, all the turbo stuff, crossover and rear exhaust manifold and down pipe from a turbo grand prix. Thats just what I can think of now Robby Quote
