gpchris Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 First of all how do you get it off the engine? I took 2 bolts out that were holding the bracket on but its still not coming off... Anybody know how many bolts there are and how to get to them. And pics would be great Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 there are 2 or 3, im not 100% sure because I didn't do my relocation, it was done along with the engine swap. I have pics somewhere of where mine got mounted, and I really like the spot. its on the left side right by the fusebox, under the fender brace Quote
joey b Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 There are 3. If you take the coils off using a 5.5mm socket the ICM will come with it and you can see the plate more easily that the assembly bolts to. Quote
slick Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I never got around to getting shorter plug wires. BTW, I left the old bracket and ICM on there, mine were rusted to the point where it wasn't coming off. Quote
gpchris Posted April 25, 2007 Author Report Posted April 25, 2007 So far I've got 2 bolts and a nut off and the coilpack isn't coming off. I think theres another bolt behind the starter... I really need a pic of the coil pack bracket Quote
gp90se Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 take the oil filter off, 3rd bolt becomes easy Quote
pwmin Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 i dont even know where they are from factory, lol. when i got the 91 it was on the driver side under the fender brace. i moved it to near where slick put his, but it was going to be temporary cuz i was going to do the newer style intake, but im not anymore, so i would be interested in some ideas on how to get it to look decent mounted to the fender support. gpchris Posted April 26, 2007 Author Report Posted April 26, 2007 So are there 2 bolts and a nut or 3 bolts and a nut?? Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Each coilpack has two 5.5mm nuts. They are located at the top and bottom of the coil. These also hold the ICM on. So there are 6 all together. The bracket won't come off I think unless the compressor is unbolted. ^That's what it should look like. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 found the pic of mine, knew i had one Quote
gpchris Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 I think my problem is that I have to take the coils off before I take the bracket off. Does anybody have a pic of it with the coils removed? Quote
