ihateallmustangs
Can I reuse my old rear strut mounts? They arent that old so theres no rust on the top inside the trunk. I got a new set cheap so I want to change the weaker ones out. Would I loosen the nut while the struts are still on the car from the inside of the trunk? I have done rears before but they always already had the mounts on them because they were used.
1990lumina
I reused my old mount because they looked absolutely fine...haven't had a problem in a year or so! And I took the mounts off after thr strut was removed from the vehicle..it's a hex-head bit in the center, and a wrench on a nut on the strut, lossen it like a pipe fitting...this is how I did it anyways... DiscoStudd
Remove the mounts along with the struts, and it'll be easier to loosen the nut on the strut shaft. Go up under the wheel well and remove the 2 bolts holding the mount in to get 'em out...
