i own a 1993 cutlass supreme that has a bad LH0 engine.

the engine was in bad shape when i got is and it slowly died over the course of three months.

i really like this car and dont want to just buy another, so i want to get another engine for it but i cant decide which one to get.

after doing a bit of research at w-body.com i have narrowed it down to the L67 (obvious), or the LG0.

i'm leaning to the LG0, only problem is i cant find another person in the forum who has done the same.

i have read about the reliability problems with the LG0 and while i'm not a mechanic, i have the tools and the now how to rip the cylinder head off every year to replace the head gasket.

i really like the idea of a 4 cylinder putting out more ponies than my stock engine

anyhow what i want to know is should i just go for another LH0, a L67, or my preferred the LG0

i didnt go through all 152 threads of the powertrain section so i could be wrong

i have an automatic and would like to upgrade to a manual

any other info will gladly be provided

it is all possible, it all comes down to how much you want to spend and how much time you want to be under the hood.

On a side note i have a 3.1 (not 3100) turbo kit and 282 (manual trans) for sale

Quad 4 HO

trust me and my dad, its great until you have to work on it. AND if you're not hooking it to a 5-speed, it will be pathetic. That thing is seriously a nightmare to work on it. a head gasket job is at LEAST 10 hours for the average guy.

it gets amazing fuel mileage, that's the big plus. there are a lot of very rare parts you'd have to find too

Rare to a W-body or a rare to the quad 4.

You're not just saying that because your dad and you couldn't get it running, lol?

they got it fixed and running right!

i would probably stay away from the LG0 simply because finding the parts would be a nightmare, if go-fast is your goal and you have a decent skill level with working on cars the L67 would be probably the cheepest way to go fast.

however you could run a 3100 on your wiring that you have now.
