what to look for??

okay tomorrow i might be trading my car a 89 cutlass supreme SL with a 2.8 v-6 with 150,000 miles for a 91 grand prix se with a 3.1 or a 3100 not totally sure but i was told that the motor was once blown so what should i look for so i don't get screwed cause the prix runs now but the odometer reads 175,000 miles so let me kno so i don't trade for a lemon thanks

Well, it has to have the 3.1L, since the 3100 hadnt come out yet. Just drive the car, and make sure it has the power it should. Look for crappily done wire connections, coolant attachments, etc. Anything that doesnt look like a factory job

If it's a 1991, the motor *should* be a 3.1L MPFI V6.

Check for the obvious; any production tags, leaks, RPO codes in the trunk, etc.

Make sure to ask for paperwork and read it over for yourself.

Get a good whole look over the car and go from there. Best of luck!

well i went and took a big look over on it and it had saw dust in the transmission so i am keepin my cutty it was too bad the car was a sharp black 91 grand prix se but o well i am gettin the cutty painted so hope it looks good so i can sell it and get a better w-body
