88 Grand Prix 'Trouble Code 64?' 2.8L

The past few days, the check engine light has been coming on. When I ground the ECM, I get a Code 64 (six fast flashes, then four fast flashes).

The problem is that this code IS NOT listed in any of my shop manuals.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You're are right... it's not a standard code for a W-Body.

But, it exists for GM: Code #64 could be one of the following:

* Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor - signal voltage is low

* Medium EGR failure

* or Right Oxygen (02) Sensor [lean condition indicated]

However since you only have one Oxygen sensor (and brings up a different trouble codes anyone) I'm willing to bet that's not your problem. Check the MAP for any faulty connections, cracked vacuum lines, etc. But, like Robby stated, how is the car acting? The more detail the better!

Car seems to run ok now...but will tend to stall out after long periods of idling....This started right after I filled up with Shell Gasoline on Saturday....The car was initially missing 5 minutes after the fill up but then seemed to clear up....I have since burned through that tank and filled up with 91 octane (non Shell) tonight.....Also, I changed the fuel filter tonight as well however I'm still getting the code 64....Thanks much
