Bizzo
Like the subject says i'm on GMPD.com right now and looking to buy a few things for the suspension on the regal. I've already decided on the tubular trailing arms that are for a 2nd gen but from what I've read here bolt up to a 1st gen. What else should I get? I'm going to get the poly pads for the leaf spring and gr-2's all the way around, what else should do I need to get to upgrade the suspension? I don't want to get crazy with rear coil overs and lowering springs because hopefully sooner than later this car is going to become my winter beater and DD, I just want some better than stock fo handling especially cornering, way too much body lean on this thing. slick
Thats really about it as far as 2nd gen stuff bolting up to your 1st gen. The trailing arms will help though. I would try to find a 3.4 DOHC car's front swaybar, get the GM universal front strut bar, and get a rear addco sway bar.
Bizzo
Yeah, I had a pretty good idea of what stuff to get from reading all the posts on here. About the front and rear sway bars, are they both bolt on installs are is there some modifications that need to be done, if so what exactly? The GM universal front sway bar, will that bolt up without modification or do I need special brackets and/or drilling? This is the 1st W i've owned where I'm doing suspension work, although my dad swapped out the rear mono leaf on my brother's cutlass last summer so I have him to help even though that was his first time. OldSkoolGP
I would exercise caution ordering anything from GMPD anymore. First of all, be prepared to wait a long time to get what you ordered, 2-3 weeks probably. Second, they use Fedex and Fedex seems to turn into brain damaged pigeons when they get parts from them. I'm going through that problem right now. Ordered the GMPP trailing arms on Feb 28. They shippped them out March 10. After not getting them for 2 weeks Fedex confirmed they lost them. Called GMPD, they reordered the parts, took another ten day to ship them out to me, now it appears Fedex has lost them AGAIN! I told them to cancel my order if that is the case. Bizzo
Oh noes I just ordered them last night! Hopefully I don't have the same luck as you. Is there anywhere else I can order them if they do give me a run around? Thanks for the heads up though I wish I saw your post before I ordered. slick
I've never had a problem with Fedex. Odd though that it has happened twice in a row.
OldSkoolGP
I'm just going to the dealer. To have them in a day or two I'll pay the extra $10-15.
Andrew
that is weird they got lost twice in a row. i got the whole kit from there just fine, and fairly quick too. ZZP does carry the trailing arms if you need another source.
digitaloutsider
GMPD took oh.. 4 weeks to send me a simple transmission spring. At least they didn't lose it..
Bizzo
Well they have my order status as "on order" so we'll see how long that takes. Where's a good place to get the gr-2's from? Somewhere that has reasonable prices and decent shipping preferred.
