96gp_Toronto Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Hey all, I think I have a bad cv joint but I'm not sure. When I'm in reverse and only in reverse (for now anways) and turn the wheel (like when you're backing out of a parking spot) I hear a fairly loud grinding noise sorta like someone's dragging a rock down the sidewalk or something. Does a cv joint make that sorta sound or is it possibly something else? thanks for the help Quote
RJansen658 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 No a CV doesn't make that sound. It is generally a popping noise. I would recommend checking the splash guards and fender liners to see if they are contacting the rim or tire. Quote
Q-Ball Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 I had a heat shield from a lower ball joint bent and gridning my rotor. But this was on the front. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Theres so many things that it could be really. Can you feel anything in the floor boards of the car with your feet? Quote
