Tack strips

Anybody know where to pick these up? Mine are pretty messed up, primarily the ones on the front bow. Also, when I replaced my top the staples didn't seem to stay in the rear too well. I used 9/16" I think which is the longest I could get. Is there something underlying the thicker soft rubber material that I didn't know about?

I'm not sure what part you are speaking of on the first bow. are you talking about the healiner retainers????

 

 

the staples you used may be too long. there is the metal tack strip[ backing under the plastic. do you still have an original staple, and did you use staples that will not rust?

I think that I used run of the mill staples. The problem is that the plastic strip is chipping away and between some of the rivets barely even exists. I would not be surprised if I needed to buy the whole metal/plastic assembly, but I do not know where to purchase such.

 

I probably should have used shorter staples on the plastic strips, but at the rear bottom the staples do not appear to be long enough.
