92 Regal 3.8 into 87 98 3.8 ???

Hello fine W Body folks, I am wondering if I can adapt a 92 3.8 long block that runs like a dream into a rod knocking 87 olds 98 coupe ?

 

I will be swapping over the intake, exhaust manifolds, timing chain cover, harmonic balancer, cam and crank sensors. I am hoping to avoid swapping the heads but will if necessary. So GM FWD gurus lay thy knowledge upon thee. Will it work with all the parts swapped or is it an excersize in futility ?

I dont think you would even have to swap any of those parts. I could be wrong, but I think the only diference inbetween the 2 is that one is a pre-vibration dampening model, and the new one isnt. Slight diference on the timing chain, but I think thats it.
