mdelorie
Whatchoo guys getting out of what engines? How have your mods affected this? What's your stock rating? what's MY stock fuel economy rating? (3.1)
Robby1870
stock rating is 19 city 29 highway. I get on the highway at 70-75 mph at least 33mpg Robby

mdelorie
Yeah... long trips on the prairies, flat as a board for hundreds of kms, I've gotten up to 35 or 36 with the cruise on. I'm impressed at how well the fuel economy has held up with age. No such luck here in da valley's. Average about 24.
patgizz
this weekend, appx 800 miles, i averaged 28mpg. 640 of that was highway driving, rest was stop and go city. 3.4dohc, automatic, no converter lockup
mfewtrail
I was getting around 28-31mpg in my 93 SE w/ the 3.1 MPFI w/ conical intake and open exhaust(one muffler, no cat, and piping out the back)...I think my mpg dropped when I got the exhaust done, but that was probably due to me driving harder to hear the exhaust 8) My 01 GTP(stock w/ the exception of a K&N drop-in filter and 3.4'' pulley), I'm getting 27.4mpg highway/granny driving, went up about 1.5mpg(was around 26.2mpg) after I did a recent tune up and changed the SC oil. god910
Delivering pizzas I get about 14 on a good week after a plug change. I was getting 16 driving like an idiot, until I changed my front three plugs, didn't notice a diff. in power but lost 3 mpg/gal I am still looking for those 3. One thing I noticed, when I pulled the old plugs out, they were gapped @ ~.060 - .070 That would explain a slight loss in MPG and the reason I had to replace my IGN module. supreme_style21
In my '94, I see around 20-22.. in my '89, I see 28-30.
Panopticon
well I don't know how to figure out your crazy American measureing system But as an example I filled my tank for $40 and Got 625KM from it. I say thats pretty good for a 3.8L with 255,000km on it.
Guest RedCutlassSL
280-300 miles to a tank
The Burning Rom
With the 90 3.1 (117k on the clock) 30mpg Highway...I average around 410 miles to the tank. With the 90 Turbo 3.1 (95k on the clock) No clue....I drove it home from milwaukee on 1 tank of 2+ year old gas, so I know it gets at least 150 miles to the tank. With the 99 GT 3.8 Around 27mpg average...I average 400 miles to the tank
DOHCRagtopguy
Mostly highway hi-speed cruising-a good steady 23 MPG. Going 70 MPH, turning about 2200 RPM. 93 Olds DOHC Ragtop

optimusprime
I get anywheres from 22 to 28 depending on city/highway mix and how fast I drive (usually pretty fast). I've got the Series 1 3800 with no mods. I think it's EPA rated at 19/29. I'm pretty happy with the fuel mileage so far considering my previous car was getting about 12 mpg. mdelorie
While we're on the whole gas / mileage topic. What's gas (plain ol' 87) worth around your neck of the woods? Right now it just went up here to 79.9 (piss me off) from 76.9... had been 61.9 for most of last year... (that's a litre, for all you down south boyz)
Robby1870
Well, Ima down south boy, and here 87 is $1.44 for a gallon, which is 3.78 liters, IIRC Robby
