In my other 94 grand prix... also with the 3.4 dohc, The power steering suddenly went out one day. I at first thought that the power steering pump was bad, but when i checked the resevoir it was empty. I then refilled the resevoir and the power steering worked again. Next day all of the fluid was gone. I tried to locate the source from on top and with the car on a lift but i cannot find it. It seams to be coming from the same place where the car is leaking oil, which i have assumed is the oil pump drive seal. It really doesnt bother me i drive it without power steering but would be nice to figure out what it is.

Uh, because our racks are designed for power steering? Not to mention that they need the power steering fluid for a lubricant and you're risking having it seizing up on you one day.

My '93 Lumina 3.4 did exactly that about two months ago.

Loose hoseclamp allowed a PS hose to pop off. Blew all the PS fluid on the ground. Replace hose, install better clamp (I like the ones sold for fuel injection hose) and it works like a champ...

i was asking where exactly does the hose run too so i know where to disconnect the other end and how much work is involved. and i live technically in schererville - unincorperated crown point right by rohrman park near hyles anderson college

Follow the hose down and it connect to the rack and pinion which is located at the rear of the cradle below the firewall.

I just replaced the low side pressure hose in my 92 vert. I ruined it while doing the powertrain install.

if you hae a lift... or willing the crawl under the car, you must just look around and see what you find.
