stockgp
ok, so there's no coolant in the oil. and apparently no oil in the coolant. replaced the thermostat, stil overheating. if you turn the heat on in the car, it's only hot for a second. after that it's only cold air. seems to be air in the system, but even if you bleed it off, the temp only goes down for a few seconds. if you rev the engine after letting it warm up, sound like it's backfiring a bit. if i ground both fans, the temp will stay around 240, but no lower. anyone have any ideas? if i can't think of something soon, it's probably going to get traded in for something newer

Crazy K
just to be sure, you have verified the guage is working? mine does not work right on my 95 CS sedan. why not just throw is a later model large intake 3100 or 3400?
ismellrealbad
hes got no heat, so it probably is....warped or cracked head (such as from a not checking things after a previous gasket job) can allow cylinder compression to enter cooling system
grand prix
my dodge van did the bubbling coolant thing and overheated, turned out to be a bad rad cap,
stockgp
puttin a new motor in is going to cost a lot more than a newer motor. my parents weren't thrilled about putting 200 bucks into new head gaskets. i'm going ot check all the plugs to see if any are wet. after that, i imagine she'll be going to the junk yard. i might save the motor for my turbo 3100. but, given it's questionable history, i don't know.
