w-bodys_are_the_best
I have been thinking about selling my 96 CS coupe, has a bad tranny, not sure if I want to fix it or sell it. My brother called me up asking if I wanted to sell it. He has a 94 CS sedan with about 230k to 250k on the body. The previous owner of his car stated that when he got it, he bought it from a lady who had just rebuilt the transmission, and then the 3100 blew, so he bought it and put in another 3100 (he said it was a new GM one, but I doubt it was) I know the previous owner, he did this in late 02, early 03. The 94 has had the exhaust broken right after the downpipe for at least a year, and he was having alot of issues with it running on 4 or 5 cylinders. A friend and I helped him swap out some coil packs, plugs, wires, and other shit when that friend junked his 95 GP 3100. We never could get it hitting all cylinders, IMO, I think the valves were shot from running it with just the downpipe for so long. It has now sat for probably 1-1.5 yrs. on account of him being broke then going to jail, and still being broke . He now has a job and asked me if I'd sell it to him. He knows the tranny is on it's last leg in the 96, but wants to throw the 94's transmission into the 96, and drive it. Is there going to be any problem's with doing this? IIRC 96 was the first year of OBDII. Is there any way to adapt the 94 transmission to work in the 96? Let me know, still not %100 sure I'm going to sell it to him, might fix it and keep it, thanks. w-bodys_are_the_best
I'd like to get $750 out of the 91 as is, needs motor(runs, but knocks bad), slave cylinder(clutch), and brake work, has PMIII, has brakes, but has a hard pedal, I'm pretty sure the pump and motor assembley need to be replaced. would have to be picked up on a trailer. I'm open to reasonable offers on the 91 International. If anyone has any information on the tranny swap let me know. I might still keep the 96, but would like to know what years interchange, thanks

PMIII Yuck! Otherwise a very interesting car that I would not mind having. Maybe if the car is still for sale once I thin my heard.
Brian P
ok you know what that "Brain" reference has to be intentional '94 will interchange with '96. Just be sure to swap your gear/neutral safety switch. That changed in '96 but is just an external part. Some early '94's might* have a different trans to frame mount. Use whichever style came with the tranny, they should both line up correct.
