blkinternational Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 got all the shit (dashboard door panels seat belts center council apiller plastic and all that) my question is. when i relocate the belts is the metal on the b piller going to be strong enough when i re attach them? Quote
97loudcut Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Dude, I so want to help you do this! We can use my car is a model. Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I've debated doing the swap as well. heck, aside from door panels I couldve had everything, but I'll lose HUD and my UB3. maybe if i snag this other one Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Mostly I'd hate to lose the UB3, although I'm sure with some modification it could be done, but I'd rather do it on a project car or something. I called the guy about that teal car, and it needs some work, but nothing too major, so I probably won't get it Quote
97loudcut Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 There's a guy over on gmwbody that has successfully done a HUD in a '95...The lack of gauges sucks though, haven't had a chance to figure that one out yet. HUH who? Quote

HUH who? 3100MPFI. He does all kinds of crazy stuff. I have sucessfully put a HUD in a 95! who copied? lol the seatbelt points in the B pilar are punched out in 94 but lack the backing "nuts" to hold them in place. For me, who will eventually convert a 94 sedan into a 95 interior, I will probably hack the nuts with the sheetmeat they are attached to, and slip them un and into the projects cars' B pilar and then have them tacked in place. at least thats the current thought. don't forget the 94 door must have their belt loop plates removed, requiring the installation of the 95-97 inner window trim to hide the cut off belt loop plate. Quote
Crazy K Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 But 3100MPFI has also made a dash pad for his, he didn't just leave his hanging out in the open. link? I would like to see pics! I have a very well trimmed hole at this time, and the defrost grid has been reinstalled, minus the hole cut through it. did I mention.... I have a trip computer? Quote

I have a trip computer? http://www.gmwbody.com/viewtopic.php?t=557 I have found me evil (or good?) twin!!! he has not created a cover yet! his fiberglassing was to repair the dash. mine looks better and is not painted! but I do need to learn to fiberglass in order to make a cover! tips? Crazy K Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Cold showers. I know that! dumbass! what else? I should post pics of mine, but it is not hanging out it is mounted into and through the dash. alas. picture posting sucks. Quote
Crazy K Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I'm not able to post in the forum, though I did join. my account is unactive? sigh... I did PM josh. Meanwhile, I need to do some more soldering... and finish my testing of a 97+ GP HUD in the CS! Quote

I observed that at least one of the two lower bolts is in place for the setbelts. I do not know how easily the dashes will swap. You should swap in the cross bar that runs behind the dash. this may require drilling and adding a few bolts to reinforce it to the car body. FOR MY SWAP I assume that I will change the entire back half of the car's harness. EVERYFUCKINGTHING. so the only part of original harness will be from the C100 connector forward. (if i don't go OBDII with it) Keep in mind that part of my swap includes upgrading the car to have power everything, and right now it is power nothing. You average Joes out there.... be warned, I expect this not to be easy, but I am certain it can be done Quote
blkinternational Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 another question will all of the air ducting line up do u think? Quote
jeremy Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 this sounds like a fun project ....you might wanna PM stockgp as he put the 95-97 cutty interior in a GP Quote
blkinternational Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 yeah ill deffinitly do that.. how bad would it lok with the 94 door panels... and 95 dash........ lol Quote
jeremy Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 it wouldn't line up worth a shit ...but the dash would be more attractive to look at Quote
blkinternational Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 fuck yeah it would i cannot stand my 94 dash, its fallin off, it has massive movement i think its gonna come outta the fire wall goin downa bumpy road the air vents are blocked by the steering weel everything is crappy design no cup holders (is a must)the radio is in a lame spot it looks so bad god! are the hook ups for everything else going to be the same u think like for the ac controls and shit? Quote
Crazy K Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 another question will all of the air ducting line up do u think? you must take the 95 ducting with the dash. the HVAC unit itself is physically the same, though automatic climate control in any car make it alot more complicated. but the case is self is generally the same. blkinternational Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 im saying is all the connections for the air going to be the same along with the cluster or am i gonna have to like cut wires n shit and match colors ? Quote

blkinternational Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 c100 or c200? wtf is that Quote

I agree with everything except the radio being in a lame spot. It's a perfect spot for navigation. Audi A8 and the new S-Class both put their navigation radios in about the same spot. Quote
ns87 Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 c100 or c200? wtf is that Utoh....lol j/k C100 is a set of wires that runs from the engine compartment to the interior. Passenger side if I remember correctly Quote
Crazy K Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 c100 or c200? wtf is that Utoh....lol j/k C100 is a set of wires that runs from the engine compartment to the interior. Passenger side if I remember correctly the c100 is the bulk though the firewall connector between the engine and body harness. the c200 is the body to dash harness, what must be determined is where 94 and 95 cars had theire wiring variances. in fact as I think about it, the c100 and c200 are directly connected to by the dash harness, the body harness will have had some changes, but they may be minor going from a 94 to a 95. I would like to know what stock GP's experience is with this? Quote
