Daggar
About 5 years ago I had a new clutch done on the car. The dingbat who did the clutch threaded the hydraluic line from the master cylinder to the accumulator through the fuel lines.. Well it took 5 years for the fuel lines to wear their way through the hydraluic line.. So is that line still available from gm? right now I cut out the damaged section and used a rubber hose to patch it. I'm having trouble getting pressure back. I followed the bleeding instructions as I saw in a post on here but the clutch still won't disengage. Does it just take a few times to get it right or is the rubber hose fix part of the problem? 1990lumina
What kind of rubber hose are you using?? Is it buldging when you press the clutch?? It might take quite a bit to get all the air out of the clutch system too...
Daggar
It's fuel line thats all I could find at such a late time in the day. Would I be better off with a old brake line? The hose don't seem to be bulging from what I see.
Miko K
push the cotter pins on both ends(master and slave cylinder) and pull the hose out(might need pliers and spray with pb blaster) and using a propane torch (first remove the o-rings) melt the plastic hose out of the metal parts and have someone braze a metal line to it. Or braze double flare fittings and then use brake line to connect the master to the slave cylinder. Just make sure you make a couple loops here and there, to allow the engine movement. Daggar
What kind of fitting do these lines use? Brian89gp got an adapter from that weird gm fitting to AN style brake hose. Anyone know what the GM fitting is properly called? I wanted to ask brian but 60degreev6 is down (probably April fools)
