Major rear wheel wobble. UPDATED (w/ pics of OBLONGED hole)

I got a loud thumping when i hit 50 km/hour continues until i slow to 30. I got a friend to drive it while i watched and noticed the rear passenger wheel was wobbling. I got it back home and lifted the wheel off the ground and grabed it at top and bottom, not movement, grab on right and left and i get slight movement. I think the rear most lateral link is moving as well.

With this said, should i just replace the lateral links, could it be the hub as well? Does anyone have a part number?

This is on the 90 Olds Cutlass Convertible, with FFP Coilovers.

visually inspect the links. shouldn't matter if it is a vert or not, they should all be the same on GEN 1s. on the 94 the rear of the two right rear lateral links had an out of round hole. but the suspension tension prevented me from noticing movement.

Could be just the bushing on that rear lateral link. Either way, if it only moves left-right, and not up-down its not the wheel bearing. Ive investigate that kunkcle/lateral link connection

Looks like the mounting bracket on the frame of the car is damaged, the hole size has oblonged which is allowing lateral movement.

Caution Large res pics 1.6MB in size

Pic facing front

Is the entire lateral link mount removable? I see 4 bolts to the frame. Has anybody attempted this before?

Ouch! Is there any room for you to weld on a plate on each side of the frame with the proper sized hole drilled to mount the later link? Or at the very least, maybe you could weld in the "elongated" part of the hole  ...

I swapped the ENTIRE axles between my 91 and 92 lumina. the issue was that the ;inkse and spring were damged, and not the major assembly, but it swapped as a unit.

HOWEVER>>>>>> I think those are the holes that are elongated from the factory. They are made that way so that they the rear toe can be adjusted! so I'd ask..... Why are they loose?

That doesn't make any sense. No amount of tightening would keep those bolts from sliding one way or the other if there's enough lateral force on one of the rear tires. hardly safe at all.

Pabz... have you compared them to the same holes on the other side? I suppose if they are loose the holes could have elongated, but I think it is still a tightening.... or just plum replace the nuts and bolts issue. the holes are elongated from the factory to at least some degree to allow tow adjustment.
