Hey guys... I just finished swapping a 91' CS Digital UB3 into a 93' CS that had the Base cluster. I used the home pages walkthru, and got everything working correctly. I only had to run 1 wire for the tach. After I was done, the was 2 wires left that weren't used. 1 was the white wire that was for the base clusters tach, and the other was brown, I don't know its purpose.

My question is... The 91' that the UB3 came out of had standard HVAC controls, the 93' that I swapped it into has digital HVAC controls. I read somewhere that the e/m switch on the cluster can also make the digital HVAC change from english to metric. I see in the pinouts that pin D9 (LT BLU) E/M OUTPUT TO HVAC & DIS should be run to the HVAC unit....

Has anyone else done this yet? I know its a lame feature, but I wanna make it work if I can. Cmon CrazyK I know you must know what I'm talking about...

hmmm, i didnt know that the ecc changed, never cared I guess. I know that you can link the UB3 with the DIS, but I didn't know about that. The extra wires are for the security, and something else. I have two, but the other is for the airbag light, which since you have a 93, that wouldnt be there

Ok I have been working on getting the ECC to change to metric for the last 3 hrs...

I can see on the ECC screen that it is capable of displaying farenheit and celcius. I thought that since it is prewired for a hud, I could simply attach into the hud harness's e/m wire and the ECC would be linked... it wasn't. The ECC has 3 plugs, each with 7 wires. Each connector is a different color. Black, White, Gray. Out of the 3 plugs, there are 3 LT BLU wires. I'd hate to have to just start grounding out wires....

Could someone post a pinout for a 93' Cutlass Supreme electronic climate control?

WOOT!

I got it, all I had to do was run a wire from pin D9 at the instrument cluster to pin 11 in C2 (Black Connector) at the back off the ECC.

If anyone is interested here are the 89-93 CS ECC Pinouts...

C1:

7. LIGHT GREEN/BLACK – DEFROST solenoid control

8. TAN – A/C solenoid control

9. PURPLE – BI-LEV solenoid control

10. LIGHT BLUE – RECIRC solenoid control

11. LIGHT BLUE – Temp door motor control

12. PURPLE/YELLOW – radio for dimming of the display

13. GRAY – light switch for illumination

14. BLACK – ground

15. Not used

C2:

7. BROWN – Air temp door variable feed

8. Not used

9. DARK GREEN – Inside air temp sensor

10. LIGHT GREEN/BLACK – outside air temp sensor

11. Not used

12. LIGHT BLUE – rear defogger timer relay

13. LIGHT GREEN – A/C request (goes to ECM)

14. RED – HEATER Solenoid

15. GRAY/BLACK – to blower controller (C1-B)

C3: (Black Connector)

7. BLACK - Ground

8. ORANGE – to ELEC fuse (hot at all times)

9. ORANGE – To ALDL

10. DARK GREEN – to ALDL

11. BLACK – GROUND (this is for the E/M switch. If you ground it, then the display will be in *C, instead of *F. Either connect it to the E/M switch, or just straight ground it for canadian cars)

12. PINK/BLACK – CLUSTER fuse (hot in run)

13. YELLOW – Sensor Ground for inside, and outside Air Temp Sensors

14. PURPLE/WHITE – rear defogger ON indicator

15. PURPLE – to blower motor
