paulo57509
I need to replace the ignition switch in my '92 Lumina (the switch, not the key cylinder). If I do it by the book, I'll have to remve the steering column from the car. If anyone has done this before, I'd like to hear your stories. Is there enough room to access the switch if I just remove the steering wheel, unbolt the column from the dash and just let it hang down? TIA. White93z34
if i remember right the switch itself is on the top of the column back under the dash. so you would have to at least pull the column down to get at it.
paulo57509
Thanks, Chris. I figured on just pulling the column down. If that doesn't yield enough room to get to the switch, I can always continue on and remove the column.
Crazy K
you can do it with the column down. take the fours bolts out that hold the column, but leave the shaft attached to the jopint at the bottom.
