rcluv Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 i have a 1994 olds cutlass convertible, my question is what brake rotors and pads will fit from other w-bodies. Quote
rcluv Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 well i want to fix up the car enough to sell it, so if i see a car at the junk yard and if the brakes are in good condition i'll change them out. i don't wanna put a whole bunch of money into this thing. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 You can get the ultra-cheap $9 brake pads from AutoZone. White-box special rotors are $14. Even if you're selling the car, there's no reason to put USED brake parts on it. Quote

rcluv Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 well i don't wanna waste anymore money on this piece of shit. Quote
Bake82 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I think it'd be cheaper to go buy the cheapest brake parts than to go buy brake parts from a junk yard. But if you'd sick of wasting money on it, then why re-do the brakes when you're selling it then???? Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Its going to be more of a PITA trying to find half-assed pads and rotors at a junkyard than it is to spend a little more and just buy the cheapest shit thats new BTW, this has got to be one of the dumbest things Ive heard people trying to do. Stop being so damn cheap, and pick up new parts to sell the to new owner. Quote
J Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 it's also a selling point to have new brakes on all 4 corners Quote
97loudcut Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Junkyard rotors.. what the hell. That is one of the most prick things to do before selling a car. Quote
jeremy Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 just go spend a few $ and do it the right way Quote
Crazy K Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 just go spend a few $ and do it the right way I'd beat your fucking ass if I caught you doing that to front brakes! front rotors warp too damn easy and the spring clips on the pads get stretched if you try to remove and reinstall used ones. I have no problem doing that to rears on the 94+ cars, but I inspect those parts carefully before I even do that!!!!!! Quote
RJansen658 Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 lol used brake parts.... come on.... Quote
Psych0matt Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 sell it to me cheap, ill fix it myself. seriously, how much you want? where are you located? Quote
rcluv Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 i live in edmonton alberta, i want $3500 cdn, which is $2,974.92 americian Quote
Canada Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 The last thing I would want on my hands is a lawsuit. Quote
FordBoy Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I know its a little old but damn if you wnat 3k for a car there is no reason why you shouldnt put NEW brakes on it how can you sleep at night knowing you could have killed someone!!! seriously Quote
digitaloutsider Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 So.. let me get this straight. You want $3000 for a car that presumably isn't worth it, but you won't put new brakes on? I really hope most people selling cars aren't like you. Quote
Q-Ball Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 It must be in mint conditon for that price. But I'm with the other guys on the brakes on this too. Just get some new ones. It will be a better selling point for you as well! Quote
White93z34 Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 i can almost see used rotors, so long as they are not warped and are still thick, but used brake pads, come on. Quote
