NOHC_WBody Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 I have no idea how this happened. I let a friend borrow the Gutlass for a few days, and when he returns it, the lifters are ticking like a bomb about to go off. Here's why. That fool must have ran over Roseanne Barr and her fat ass cousin to boot. I swear to fucking god, I'm gonna kick his ass. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: [edit] Looks like a new oil pan & oil pressure sender are going to be heading my way soon. FUCK! Quote
Bake82 Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 Man that SUCKS!! just get your friend to pay for it. If he/she did it, make them pay for it, or atleast half!! but that REALLY REALLY SUCKS!! thats why you never let a friend drive your car unless you're in the passenger seat! Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted June 13, 2003 Author Report Posted June 13, 2003 What I don't get is how it happened. I mean, the front of the subframe is 2-3 inches below the bottom of the pan....I mean, he would have had to have felt something like that....there's no way around it. Quote
Bake82 Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 Yah seriously, That's extremely weird. Have you asked him about it? like if he had hit anything, before you tell him what's wrong? Anyways I hope you get that fixed! looks like a 'fun' job Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted June 13, 2003 Author Report Posted June 13, 2003 Very observant, grasshoppa. Got something against Fram filters? Quote
Slade901 Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 That's not good.. I would have him pay for that repair. A good friend will tell you what happened to the car and will pay for it. He may have tried to drive it "off-road". Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Fram is bad, mmmkay? ...at least, from what I hear..... they have little to no filtering ability, or something.... and yeah, make your friend pay for it... Quote
SmokesGTP Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 They don't flow well supposedly. I have noticed my tick less in the morning since going to an AC Delco. Trash the fram and your lifters will thank you. Quote
Robby1870 Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Man, that really sucks. You know what sux more, is that you Im pretty sure you have to take the motor out to change the oil pan Robby Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted June 14, 2003 Author Report Posted June 14, 2003 Fram filters or not, I have a good argument for an immediate L67 swap to my wife. Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 oooo if your friend is mechanically illiterate, and such, tell him the only way to fix it is to change the motor.... and he has to chip in... Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted June 14, 2003 Author Report Posted June 14, 2003 He is. He's the type that's lucky to find the gas door release on cars so equipped. Quote
Baddflash Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 I've heard nothing but bad things about fram filters, not sure exactly what but everyone tells me they suck. Pure One filters are actually really good, they keep your oil much cleaner than most I've tried but cost around $10Cdn. I'd be really pissed at your buddy especially for not telling you, I seriously doubt he didn't know it unless he was drunk. Make him pay!!! Shitty luck man! Quote
per0781 Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 everyone should read this: http://www.frankhunt.com/FRANK/corvette/articles/oilfilterstudy/oilfilterstudy.html Quote
Slade901 Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Hmm.. I've been using Fram for a longest time... I guess it is time to change brand ... Quote
