I have no idea how this happened. I let a friend borrow the Gutlass for a few days, and when he returns it, the lifters are ticking like a bomb about to go off.

Here's why.

Man that SUCKS!! just get your friend to pay for it. If he/she did it, make them pay for it, or atleast half!! but that REALLY REALLY SUCKS!! thats why you never let a friend drive your car unless you're in the passenger seat!

What I don't get is how it happened. I mean, the front of the subframe is 2-3 inches below the bottom of the pan....I mean, he would have had to have felt something like that....there's no way around it.

I would have him pay for that repair. A good friend will tell you what happened to the car and will pay for it.

 

He may have tried to drive it "off-road".

Fram is bad, mmmkay? ...at least, from what I hear..... they have little to no filtering ability, or something....

They don't flow well supposedly. I have noticed my tick less in the morning since going to an AC Delco. Trash the fram and your lifters will thank you.

I've heard nothing but bad things about fram filters, not sure exactly what but everyone tells me they suck. Pure One filters are actually really good, they keep your oil much cleaner than most I've tried but cost around $10Cdn.

I'd be really pissed at your buddy especially for not telling you, I seriously doubt he didn't know it unless he was drunk. Make him pay!!! Shitty luck man!
