EDIT: To many "specifics" sections.

I've been hearing some noise in my car, sounding like my tires but the shop I took my car to insists that it is not my tires (sounds like it to me as i slow down or go over 45 it starts up ...) I'm understanding their is another bearing in my trans is it possible its this? What does it sound like ... does it sound like truck tires going down the road or does it creak? The tires I have now are like 7 years old ... not sure if they rotated them either when they balanced them earlier today ...

But, lets pretend I'm stupid as all hell which is fairly close to w/ my car when it comes to suspension ... especially w/ the front.

Any ideas/pointers would be awesome ...

didnt they check the hub assemblies. lift the front end with a jackand wiggle the tire. if it has alot of play both up and down and left and right its prolly a bearing.

well the bearing is replaced as of yesterday on the side where its making the noise ...

i doubt its the bearing again ... they said there was another on the trans side of where the axel goes in ...

oh well i'll just take it to get it checked out again ...

anyone else want to throw some ideas on the table?

jack up said side of car and leave the other side on teh ground

put car in drive

let off brake and slowly accelerate

if you hear teh sound, its probably a bearing

on a side not...are the tires "chopped" at all!?...any odd wear pattern!?...if so, i'd bet money on it being the tires...

when i had it looked at they put a stethescope to it ... and they're saying they are still hearing it from the left side ... the bearing has been replaced there is no play. both sides were replaced ... i'm asking for thoughts. and the tires are pushing the 4th winter ...

thats how you check tie rods

no that's how you check wheel bearing, tie rod, and ball joint.
