ihateallmustangs Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I have broken 2! Both in from doing work in the cold. Its getting annoying. Those plastic handles are brittle. Quote
Justin Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 None. Maybe try warming up the car before working on it? If the engine compartment is warm the dipstick handle should be as well. Quote
5speedz34 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 1 and it was on a newer Ford F-150. Many of Ford's dipsticks never want to come out. I ended up glueing it back together and telling the customer to get it replaced under warranty. Quote
rockfangd Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 0. always keep a drop of oil on the rubber seal around the top and you will prolly never break one. Only ford is the ones that break easy because you have to be the hulk to remove them lol Quote
runt Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 There's a dipstick for the oil on cars? Quote

Hmm, I've worked for Ford for 5 years now and have never broken a dipstick, nor replaced one under warranty, or even seen a customer car come in with a broken dipstick. That's kinda weird. Quote
