94CutlassSLCoupe
The service records i can have my dad scan and send. I thought i told him to leave it with the car. He must have kept the remote for himself, like i'll ever get that back. R134A can be emptied into the atmosphere. The car is R-134a. Honestly, what do you want? Its a 13yr old car. It runs good and is reliable. Beyond that the things that are "wrong" with it are mostly due to how anal someone is about it. I didn't think the car was loud and I would have just kept running it. But that's me

But that's me did i say it was your fault? i know it runs good and is reliable, thats why i bought it. The only thing that gets me is the bubble of rust on the roof. Oh i meant to ask when was the fender repainted?
94CutlassSLCoupe
no, it just sounds like you're trying to say that there's a lot of stuff wrong with it...which there isn't. The a/c compressor and the o-rings would be a good idea because it did leak R-134a, you know that. Any bodywork done to the car was done before i purchased it. Now that you mention it i remember the bubble on the roof but i didn't mess with it because i would have messed up more paint trying to fix it at this point. J
no i'm not trying to make you look bad, the car was a bargin. I'd bitch about a new Lexus if something bothered me. I'm just not used to having a used car for the last 3 years, it was nice
J
oh how do i make it (DIS) shut up about ow fuel? I filled up and it's still oging off!
94CutlassSLCoupe
pull the glovebox tray out and pull the cigarette lighter fuse for about 20 seconds. Like i said, its a little flaky since the computer doesn't send fuel data.
J
i'm not understanding the glove box tray part
94CutlassSLCoupe
ok, you know how there's the glovebox where the airbag would be on the dash, open that, and the tray where you throw your junk is at the bottom, that lifts out and behind that is the fusebox
J
got it, i tried the acc fuse but the DIS was still on? I have a haynes and i can't find the part where it says which fuse. Damn i hate electrical
94CutlassSLCoupe
the DIS memory is on the CIGARETTE LIGHTER FUSE, remember, its CUSTOM wiring in this car. Do it with the ignition off

Addicted2bass
It took me awhile to track down the noise my engne was making. Turned out to be the clutch on the a/c compressor rubbing against the compressor itself. I sprayed some lub on it an the noise hasnt been back. w-bodys_are_the_best
Yeah my 94 had the same noise, turned out to be the compressor, the shop said they pulled the clutch off, leaving the compressor, and replaced the bearings. Said it was a pretty easy job. That was before I started fixing my own car. They said it wasn't really anything to worry about, AC still worked fine. I let it go for a long time, the whine got so bad people would hear it a block or two away, before they saw my car they knew I was coming down the road. They charged me like $80 if I remember right.
