AWeb80
search didn't turn up much.... I'm going to dyno my GP in a few weeks w/ a bunch of other GP guys. is it possible to tune obd 1.5....and how much?...what software can do it? I'm not looking for power specifically....maybe just even out the AFR's....and such...
Crazy K
with a 94 3100? I'd like to learn the same. otherwise i had some advanced thoughts on going OBDII in my 95 3100.
Brian P
nothing widely available. There was supposedly one in the works by DHP but was never finished. Considering the relative ease of at least an early OBD2 swap, it's probably never going to come out.
digitaloutsider
I know it's possible because the Bonneville guys do it. Unless they have a removable PROM or something. You're best asking Ben why you can't do it.
pwmin
theres a removable prom im pretty sure. were looking into something at my dads garage that can tune just about anything including beamers and shit but its 10 grand. and yes, the older bonne and park ave guys can get theirs done. but theirs no point in tuning a 3100 ben used to make a chip for 95 3.4's anyway iirc pm duceyducese on clubgp. he was telling me about someone he was going to send his 95 ultra pcm out to to make some changes. not sure about real-time tuning though. slick
Swap to OBDII and do better.
19Cutlass94
Theres no removeable prom in the 3100's. The only one that did some with a removeable prom was the corsicas ( I think ) but Ben doesnt even mess with those. Ive asked him about his. Unless DHP or you can find some way to flash it, thats about it. OBDII is going to be your best bet
95aquase
i took my PCM to our dyno guy and he opened it up, and said there was something that can be removed from my pcm, and it had a access opening on the case, so he is hopeing he can tune it. he is not sure tho, i know all you guys are saying you cant, but he will try to find a way. IIRC thats the knock module, and not a prom chip.
digitaloutsider
CrazyK is correct, that's the knock module. He can't tune it. It's just not happening.

Theres just no way around it. whats all involved in converting to OBD II? x2 to go to a 96 obd II you need the pcm, and wires, Neutral start switch, the 3 wire temp sender, and a MAF? Thats what I have gathered....

mfewtrail
Someone good with computers needs to research how the Tech II's scantools are able to reflash those PCMs with updates and then make their own setup...I think I had to use a laptop and a Tech II back when I reflashed the PCM in my parent's '94 Regal with an update that was available(this was back in '04 or '05).
