I was on the site and I saw this:

Our coil-over kit comes with everything you need to convert your rear suspension from that old, saggy monoleaf to FULLY ADJUSTABLE, independent coil-over struts. The coil-overs feature 6†of height adjustment, which allows you to raise or lower the rear of the car WITHOUT changing the ride quality. This is the safest and best way to lower the rear of your car. The rear strut towers are more than strong enough to support the rear of the vehicle without distorting or breaking. This kit covers all W body cars with a monoleaf rear suspension, and includes springs, BILLET ALUMINUM upper spring mounts, threaded sleeves with adjuster nuts. You can order the kit with or without KYB GR-2 struts which are required to use this kit. All kits are built to order, so please allow up to 4 weeks build time. We have material in stock for two kits and we will not be making any new kits! When these two are gone... that's it!

So then Ill have yet another discontinued item on my car! Whats he up to if hes not going to make coilovers anymore?!

Michael does this on the side IIIRC.

Anyways, I talked to him sometime last fall and he said he had no plans to get rid of them.

I knew that he did it on the side, I just wasnt sure if he was moving on to another project, or just stopping it completely ya kno?

Probably completely. He hasn't owned a W-body for a while.

ok the rear coilovers are easy as hell to make for our cars for way cheaper then ffp sells then for

the only hing ffp sells is the top mounts id assume, and i bet awebb could make them// hell if i sold my rear coilover setup for 200 bucks id still be making money

i never saw the thread but ive had frnt and rear coilovers for a while now...

as for parts the reas cost (per coilover) IIRC

~40 bucks for the spring - 12" long

~ 20 for a 7" threaded sleve

under $15 for the adjustter ring/ nut whatever you call it that goes on the sleeve to adjust the height

mounts could be made for under 20 bucks a piece forsure, so looking at a toal of what $90 bucks a strut

edit:

also the parts are available in all sorts of I.D. to work with ANY strut brand you choose to use

ya i just some of the thread now. i didnt get the parts from

a1racing.com

and the springs from

summitracing.com

as for the rear mount mine arent anything like turbo sedans, i basically looked at the setup of FFP's im not gunna lie, i just got some 15/16" plate cut to the size of the stock upper mounts, drilled the holes, then uses a home made rubber "washer" to go between the mount and the spring. its sort of hetto but i wanted everything to fit first. i would like to get some mounts made though, by the looks off ffp's it woulnt be too difficult to make something even better designed

the fronts are easy as hell to do same setup but i used a 9" sleve, cut the stock perch off and went to town- well a little more then that but basically thats it

about 230 shipped for 2 sleeves, 2 springs, and 4 rings (i hate dealing w/ the set screws)...not too bad

didnt see any 9" sleeves though

i just used my stock rubber mounts; been on for over a year with no problems.

if you use that stuff, you can get any brand coil that is 2 1/2" ID and 12" long, which you did

looks like i might have a project for the new car (94+ front knuckles and coilovers, 94+ rear brakes and coilovers)
