no1kicker Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 I just found a nice vacuum leak coming from betweeen my gutted supercharger case and LIM. The gasket is practically new and I think my case might not be perfectly flat at the spot where I found the leak. What would be the best sealant to try and seal this? Quote
servoalt Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 could you stack two gaskets atop one another? i did this once for my exhaust, and it worked great. Quote
5speedz34 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Red RTV? Is it a GM gasket? I've heard they suck. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 RTV should be more than enough to seal it. Just make sure it sits a day or two to make sure it sets up. could you stack two gaskets atop one another? i did this once for my exhaust, and it worked great. Theres some things where you can stack gaskets, like exhaust manifolds or headers, but other things you cannot stack gaskets. It wont work and itll cause more problems that what you started with. Andrew Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 yeah RTV for sure. do a thin bead on both sides of the gasket just to be safe. x2 on letting it set for at least 24 hours. Quote
terryk2003 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 arent there a couple different kinds of supercharger gaskets!?...different styles...i don't remember which one is supposed to be better than the other...i just know that there are supposedly 2 different kinds...maybe search clubgp!?...
