jmoore4294 Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 So, i've changed the mini-quad lights to brighter silverstars that have the look of HID, and I have to say, that I am quite impressed by the difference. So i have to ask, is there any way to change the bulb for the fog lights too, or do i have to buy new fog lights in order to get the same look? Quote
Crazy K Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 wrong forum section. sorry! basically asking if silverstars are made to replace the OEM bulbs then? the old bulbs just twist and pull out. Quote
97loudcut Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 No, they do not make after market fog light bulbs for our cars. I went to AutoZone and bought a whole new fog light assembly (the blue PILOT ones for $25) and wired them in. Quote
rockfangd Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I did the same. They are like 100 times brighter than oem. I put 145 watt bulbs and they are almst brighter than the headlamps Quote
jmoore4294 Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Posted March 5, 2007 Can you use the existing wiring or do you need a kit? And are they rectangular like the stock fog lights are? Quote
jmoore4294 Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Posted March 5, 2007 and how hard are these to install? Quote
1990lumina Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 They're rectangular...and i think most guys are running off their factory wiring Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 there are silverstars for the foglights, bulb number 889. I have them, and really they did make a difference. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I did the same. They are like 100 times brighter than oem. I put 145 watt bulbs and they are almst brighter than the headlamps I wouldn't put high wattage bulbs into the fogs. I put 100W in mine once. They didn't last nearly as long and ended up melting the +12V supply pins in the firewall connector. Quote
Stevo Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I think someone here suggested removing stock lamps and switch to the ones found in chev sonomas. Quote
