1979lee Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Hey all, got a 98 lumina 96k miles, my front drivers side brakes make a treible grinding/sqauking noise when i back up my car, and the noise only happens, when the brakes are slightly pressed. i had the brakes and rotors inspected they are in good working order, so i am at a loss the brakes did this before but i had them replaced(pads) and the rotors turned. thanks Quote

Are you using any shims on the back of the pads? what are caliper slides? no shims on the pads , they look as the do in the link, you see it only make this loud squak noise when you back up , at no other time does it make noise. thansk again Quote

syknesss Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 take the pads out and use "disk brake stop squeel" on the back of the pads and lube up the caliper slides that should solve your problems Quote
