Justin Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 It's back up, new link. http://www. rivertownauto.com/cgi-bin/autocheck.cgi?vin=xxxxxxx same as before, replace xxxxxx with your vin and remove space after www. HURRY if you want it to work for you. Quote
Brian P Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 So how big is River town auto's bill gonna be? Quote
Justin Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 I'm not sure who's loophole it is. Either autocheck as a company doesn't lock down their program enough by limiting it to dealer inventory, or the guys at the dealership are too lazy to send in updated vin records. Either way w-body is the least of their worries, these links are running rampant on the deal sites, like fatwallet and slickdeals. Quote

digitaloutsider Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Remove the link so people don't click-thru. That'll get it killed quickly. Quote
Justin Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 Can they really click through if you have to modify the link to make it work? Modified anyway, but I think it's redundant. Quote

Andrew Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Anyone else find it odd that it goes from about 14,000 miles to 127,000 with no record in between? nah, its just means that it had the same owner the whole time, with no accidents. same owner + no accidents = no reason to report mileage, hence the big gap. 89GPSE Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 This is great. With all the free Carfax's I end up running into, I check my cars all the time. I should start printing them out. Quote
Crimson Fury Z Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 just 1 lien at the first 12 miles(more than likely time of purchase). otherwise it checks out! Quote
Andrew Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 mine shows a possible rollback too, but i think its just a dumb error. when the car lot received the car back after the lease was up, mileage was stated at 62,800. then the lot declared it at 70K, but then when it was sold, it was stated at 63,300. so i think the lot screwed up somehow. since it was a lease return they probably had a couple cars just like it and some idiot got them confused. and why the hell does it always list car lots/dealers as 'auto auction' ?? i bought it from a lot, not an auction!! got it 9-15-04 with 110k miles !!
