Nick1234 Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 My friend took his upper intake manifold off to install his insert from zzperformance, and found about 1/2 qt of oil in the lower manifold. What causes that to happen. 00 Impala LS 3.8 Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 Possibly a bad PCV system. Quote
Robby1870 Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 Was the oil puddled up or just coating the inside of the runners? I'm leaning toward PCV system too. I'm not sure where the PCV dumps back into the intake on 3800's, but thats what it sounds like to me. Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 it could also have a LIM leak, but this is more common on 3x00's Quote
Andrew Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 the PCV valve is on the left of the intake, under the MAP sensor. just replace it, its cheap. Quote
