have you checked your pan? possible you have a hole, leak, or maybe even a side of the pan isnt tight or the gasket has a chunk missing. i know last winter in the blazer that happened with my oil pan. every time id turn hard left like into a parking spot you'd see a big quarter circle trail of oil where it would come out

How exactly would tranny fluid burn off?

has to be leaking somewhere... throw some cardboard under it and park it consistantly.

It is possible to burn off tranny fluid if the vacuum modulator is bad. Pull off the vacuum line going to the modulator, and see if there is any fluid that comes out. You could also remove the modulator itself and check to see if there is fluid that comes out. If there is, than the modulator needs to be replaced.

it has to be going some were if its not leaking from the bottom then check the mod valve i will lay money on that mod valve being the cause

I think it is your trans. modulator. If that goes bad, it allows oil to be sucked up the line going from the modulator to the throttle body. The fluid gets sucked up into the TB and burned in the engine.

I think the tranny itself is close to junk.

As far as i know when manually downshifting an auto the RPMs should go up and gradually go down.

Not this tranny i get a surge forward do to the clunk and quick slow down. Its hard to explain. when down shifting in OD its normal but there is something about the manuals downshift :dunno:

U think the mod. is bad huh what is a good est. price on one

I think the last time i checked into one, it would have cost me around 30$. There not awful expensive and take all of maybe 5 minutes to change out. You could also put in an adjustable one that would allow you to control the firmness of the shifts

unplug the vac line to the modulator and turn it upside down.

my tranny cooler inside the radiator in one of my cars bust and leaking tranny fluid into the radiator.
