Puggsley456 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 I have a 94 cutty 3100. And I noticed an oil leak dripping from the oil filter drainage chute. But the filter is tight and dry. Is there a sensor directly above the oil filter that could be the cause of this? Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Its prolly just the gasket on the oil filter. Theres no sensor or anything there that Im aware of. Quote
Puggsley456 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Report Posted February 13, 2007 I believe ther is. I can see the connection from under the hood. I update this once I get it onto the hoist at work. Quote
Brian P Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 oil pressure sensor is adjacent to it, and it did leak on my old 3100. Quote
Puggsley456 Posted February 14, 2007 Author Report Posted February 14, 2007 Jay you were half right. It does appear to just be the oil filter. But there something just sbove it but it looks ok. Filter tigh but still pissin. I guess its time for an oil change. Quote
rockfangd Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 The sensor above it is the knock sesor with one black wire and the sending unit is to the right with 3 wires, but i am leaningmore towards a leaking oil filter. it could be defective Quote
Puggsley456 Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 oil pressure sensor is adjacent to it, and it did leak on my old 3100. Is that the one directly above the starter? Because if so, it leaking pretty good on my car. Quote
