versache Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I am posiblely getting a cheap 3.4L engine and trans, i was just wondering what you guys thought would be some good things to put in it when i go to rebuild them both. Quote
GrandPrix34 Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 The G-TiP...i like that! well ask any 3.4 DOHC owner and they'll tell you that nothing beats a good tune-up...oil/filter change, tranny flush, radiator flush, inspect and replace all hoses and belts (timing belt for sure!!!), spark plugs and wires, new airfilter.....am i missing something? oh yeah, a blessing from a POPE or GOD himself cuz like someone on these boards mentioned awhile back..."these cars were forged by satan himself.." for modding...intake and exhaust are the most basic and good starting points...then you can build up on that. I suggest you use the search function for ANYTHING you might have cuz more likely than not, its prolly already been discussed. I think there is someone on this board (OR EFI) who has copied some very helpful information to Word documents and he can led you a hand on anything. Also Redfox(??) has a great W-body site wit Tech Tips that make me feel like a real mechanic. 8) ..lol..you should check it out... Quote
Robby1870 Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 the only internal thing you can really do to a DOHC is port and polish the hell out of the heads and intakes. Get a chip, and good exhaust, TB, and intake, and thats really all you can do Robby Quote
