3.5 Shortstar Reliability

Recommended Posts

My sister needs a new car, and my dad was looking at an 02 Intruige with the 3.5. How reliable is this engine? Also, is it reasonably easy to maintain? Does it use the 4T65-E?

Yes, they use the 4T65E. They're extremely reliable motors from everything I've read and researched.

yes they are reliable as any other GM motor, if not more. That is as much as I can rant about them because Loudcut might get mad and say I type too much.

Dear 8lb. 6oz. baby Jesus, please do not start any more threads on the 3.5 ShortStar motors and there reliabilty. I would also like to thank you for this delicious meal of KFC, PizzaHut, and the always satisfying Taco Bell.

Yes they are reliable. "They tend to eat a quart of oil between each oil change," says IronDogg.
