jrbakke
Okay, quick question on tire size here, every site I've checked says that the '94 GP with 16" wheel option is 215/60R16 tires, but the tire spec/loading sticker on my trunk lid says 225/60R16. Which Is correct? I would assume the tire spc/loading sticker placed on the trunk lid by GM. Any clue as to why the differance? When I buy my tires I will be going with the 225's since that is what the info on my car says to use, unless someone can give me a very good reason not to. Addicted To Boost
Your sticker is correct IF you still have the same factory wheels that originally came with that car.
jrbakke
I don't know if they are the original factory wheels or not, they are 16' Pontiac 5 spokes. The spare tire cover has been replaced with one from a different car, so the RPO code sticker isn't correct.
jeremy
just get the 225s and call it a day
Psych0matt
they are 16' Pontiac 5 spokes. Wow, I thought things were getting rediculous with 24"s and such
AWeb80
you can fit 245's on there.....but just stick w/ the 225/60/16's, they fit best on the thinner 5-spoke rims. btw, i didn't think 94's came w/ 5-spokes....only X-laces.... GP1138
I believe Shock's '94 GTP came with hi-po 5-spokes.
jrbakke
Okay, got the front tires replaced today, and now I wish I had kept the 215's that were on it. My GP has the GTP body kit on it, and the 225's up front rub when I turn.

Brian P
225-55-16 has about the same height sidewall as the 215-60-16. How much does the tire shop like you? Maybe they can switch them.
Canada
you can fit 245's on there.....but just stick w/ the 225/60/16's, they fit best on the thinner 5-spoke rims. btw, i didn't think 94's came w/ 5-spokes....only X-laces.... I would NOT put a 245/50/16 on a 6.5" wide wheel.......8" is the ticket.

I thought the first gen 5-spokes were 7" and the second gen 5-spokes were 6.5"..... i've seen a second gen w/ 5-spokes that had 245's on there.....and it didn't look safe... tire bulged alot. My sister has those on GTP because the previous owner put them on there, they are in there tight! The car has literally no sidewall. I really need to get a better set of tires for that car.
